SMT Software implements a multimedia mobile platform in Slovenia

SMT Software, an IT company listed on the NewConnect stock market, sold a multimedia mobile platform to a company Planet9 which is a part of Slovenian Telekom Group.

Planet9 provides technological support to other companies from the Slovenian Telekom Group and is responsible for maintaining the SiOL television which is available to the broadband network users. SMT Software concluded an agreement with Planet9 to develop and implement a multimedia platform in the shape of a mobile application which will be downloaded by the Telecom customers in order to watch television on their mobile devices (mobile phones, smartphones, tablets).

The application provided by SMT Software allows the mobile users to watch the SiOL television on iPhone as well as other devices with the Android and Symbian OS. In the future the company plans to develop the said application to make it available to the iPad, Windows Mobile and Blackberry users.

The most important features of the mobile application allow the users to watch mobile television in real time, browse interactive TV guide, use VOD – Video On Demand, interactively upload the video files recorded with the use of mobile phones and share their photos and the recorded material within the SiOL TV network community.

„Establishing cooperation with Planet9 is another step on the road to development of SMT Mobile Department.- said Sebastian Łękawa, Chairman of the Board at SMT Software S.A. – The mobile applications market proved to be very prospective in the last year and the 2011 prognosis are promising.”

SMT Software S.A. also plans to develop and sell the said application to the customers on the Polish market. The offer will be directed to the television and web portals companies which might be interested in distributing their multimedia services and downloading the user-made content through mobile channels.
